Pride of Place: Great reviews deserved to be read. We keep ours on the wall
For several years in a row, Neil has returned to Château de Pommard to deliver his judgement on Clos Marey-Monge's and Emmanuel Sala's hard work. Every year, he leaves satisfied, as his review of Clos Marey-Monge Monopole 2014 testifies:
“From his intimate knowledge of the many parcels on the property, cellar-master Emmanuel Sala has crafted a very complete and compelling expression of it. Deep, luminous ruby. An authentic, authoritative nose, restrained but vivid: fresh back and red fruit, with an earthy licorice lick. Animating acidity but nothing angular, thanks to the firm but fine-grained, well-polished tannins; good harmony and intensity through the long finish, which should fan out over time.”
