Silver line-up at the Decanter World Wine Awards 2020

At the 17th edition of the Decanter World Wine Awards (DWWA), which took place over 28 consecutive days in August, four of our Famille Carabello-Baum and Château de Pommard 2017 cuvées won Silver medals. With 116 of the world’s top wine experts judging the wines, including 37 Masters of Wine and nine Master Sommeliers, the DWWA is the world's largest wine competition.

This year, 16,518 wines were blind tasted, resulting in 50 Best in Show, 178 Platinum, 537 Gold, 5,234 Silver, and 7,508 Bronze medals.

"I think it’s a wonderful thing that the DWWA was able to happen this year. I think it’s a point of focus for a lot of the wine trade around the world really. It is the biggest competition of all and so the fact that we’ve been able to keep going and to make it happen I think has given everybody heart," remarked Andrew Jefford, DWWA 2020 Co-Chair.

Château de Pommard, Clos Marey-Monge Monopole 2017: Silver Medal

Famille Carabello-Baum, Ladoix Premier Cru "Les Gréchons" 2017: Silver Medal

"Luscious yellow peach, apricot, and baked bread with a generosity of well-judged oak and a perfect core of acidity."

Famille Carabello-Baum, Bourgogne Pinot Noir 2017: Silver Medal

"Bags of deliciously fragrant dark cherry and briary fruit, with grippy, leathery tannins and a long, energetic finish."

Famille Carabello-Baum, Nuits-Saint-Georges 2017: Silver Medal
