Paolo Basso, Sommeliers International – Clos Marey-Monge Monopole 2017

Sommeliers International is a magazine dedicated to a wide audience of both professionals and well-informed connoisseurs. Respect for the cultural traditions, discovery of the neighbour countries and analysis of the methods … All subjects are closely examined by the most famous journalists, as long as magic happens, as passion is universal.

Last May, renowned Swiss-Italian sommelier Paolo Basso visited Château de Pommard. In presence of our winemaker, Emmanuel Sala, he tasted our Clos Marey-Monge Monopole 2017. Here are his comments.

Clos Marey-Monge Monopole 2017

“A pale ruby color with garnet reflections. The discrete nose expresses black cherry, redcurrant, wild strawberries and clove. The palate goes on to be rich and dense with a muscular voluptuousness exposing a beautiful structure, all complemented by firm tannins. The finish is long and persistent in a very luscious style.”
