Paolo Basso, Sommeliers International – Simone 2017

Sommeliers International is a magazine dedicated to a wide audience of both professionals and well-informed connoisseurs. Respect for the cultural traditions, discovery of the neighbour countries and analysis of the methods … All subjects are closely examined by the most famous journalists, as long as magic happens, as passion is universal.

Last May, renowned Swiss-Italian sommelier Paolo Basso visited Château de Pommard. In presence of our winemaker, he tasted our Simone 2017. Here are his comments.

Simone 2017

“A pale ruby color with garnet reflections. The nose is intensely spicy exhibiting clove, macerated red fruit and aged balsamic vinegar notes. A rich, full-bodied and muscular palate helps to provide balance to the natural sweetness that is present. The tannins are firm and structured with a long and expressive finish.”
