In Burgundy it is often said that every single vine sends its roots into a different soil. Nowhere is that more true than Clos Marey-Monge.
Biodynamic Viticulture
Employing three centuries of wisdom that has come from respecting Clos Marey-Monge, we are now on a mission to protect the vineyard for another 300 years. How? With biodynamic viticulture.
Hand-Harvesting
Every grape in Clos Marey-Monge is hand-picked by our vineyard team. Every year we venture into the vines, on a specific day chosen by our winemaker, to start snipping and sorting. It’s thirsty work, but it’s the only way to truly respect the fruits of the vineyard’s labor and express each terroir as nature intended.
Our signature winemaking technique helps us stand apart from other winemakers in Burgundy. The method is simple but highly effective: we capture the essence of Clos Marey-Monge soils complexity through delicate maceration, employing as little human intervention as possible.
Hidden 30ft underground, among a maze of dark pathways lined by bottles of vintages past, the wine slowly begins its transformation into something beautiful. It is here that our wines, barely contained in their Burgundy Oak barrels, spring to life.
From grape to glass, each vintage tells its own story. Our signature blending process doesn’t require a rule book or a magic formula. We simply follow our noses and tastebuds and let the vintage do all the talking – because a year in Burgundy is never the same twice.
