The IWC is accepted as the world’s finest and most meticulously judged wine competition which assesses every wine blind and judges each for its faithfulness to style, region and vintage. Throughout the rigorous judging processes, each medal-winning wine is tasted on three separate occasions by at least 12 different judges and awards include medals (Trophy, Gold, Silver, Bronze) and Commended and Great Value awards.<\/p>\n

Winning a medal at the International Wine Challenge is a significant achievement.\u00a0The points system, based on a 100-point scale, has been used as a base at the International Wine Challenge for the past 25 years, to determine whether a medal will fall into the Gold medal (95-100), Silver medal (90- 94), Bronze medal (85-89) or Commended Award (80-84) points category.<\/p>\n

About 2019 International Wine Challenge<\/strong><\/p>\n

The International Wine Challenge (IWC) owned by William Reed Business Media is now in its 36th year. The International Wine Challenge<\/a>\u00a0was created in\u00a01984<\/strong>. Judges taste standing up, over 10 days. In the first week, potential medal-winning wines are selected.
