Neil Beckett, key editor of the publication, visited our estate in November 2019. With Michael Baum and Emmanuel Sala, he tasted 2018 cuvées in avant-première. Here are his comments.

Clos Marey-Monge Monopole 2018: 92-93 points

“After the individual parcels, culminating in the sublime 100% whole-bunch Simon, some of which will again be given individual expression, Emmanuel presented a representative blend as the flagship Clos Marey-Monge. Mid-ruby. Very naturally
expressive on the nose, an amalgam of dark but not black fruit, with a beguiling delicatesse and douceur. Medium-bodied, elegantly firm, fine-grained, gentl grippy. Still nascent and not the final blend, but very harmonious and highly promising.”

Ladoix Premier Cru “Les Gréchons” 2018: 93 points

“The passionate but sensitive winemaker, Emmanuel Sala, rates this site almost as highly as the best premiers crus in Meursault or Puligny-Montrachet, and this sensational wine makes a compelling case, as well as showing that Emmanuel has as deft a touch with whites as with reds. Pale gold.
