CLOS MAREY-MONGE

GRANDS CHAMPS

2017

TASTING
Known to bring body and structure to our Clos Marey-Monge Monopole blend, our Grands Champs is a high-quality Pinot Noir enjoyable on its own. With an intense ruby color and exuberant nose of red fruits, sandalwood and sweet spices such as cinnamon and cloves, it is a full-bodied and tannic red wine. Its long finale displays notes of minerality, bringing an elegant touch to this robust cuvée.

“The nose is very discrete: opening on smoky, leathery and red cherry aromas, typical to Pinot Noir. On the palate, the texture is dense and powerful with a rich mid palate, complemented with powdery fine-grained tannins and a long ardent finish.”

Paolo Basso, Best Sommelier of the World 2013

Explore Clos Marey-Monge

The largest monopole in Burguny, Clos Marey‑Monge is a collection of different micro-climates and soil types. Each of our seven terroirs – Simone, Les Paules, Grands Champs, Chantrerie, 75 Rangs, Micault, and Émilie – is a different composition of limestone, iron-rich clay, alluvium and other minerals essential to Pinot Noir.
