CLOS MAREY-MONGE

LES PAULES

2017

TASTING

Behind its intense ruby color, our Les Paules 2017 reveals a nose full of black fruits aromas, including blackcurrant and blackberries. The palate confirms these flavors, alongside notes of sweet spices like cloves and cinnamon. With well-rounded tannins, it is a full-bodied and fleshy Pommard Pinot Noir drinkable from now on, that can also wait a few years to reach its apogee.

“The nose shows vibrant and fruity wild strawberry and woody notes alongside a touch of green peppercorn and redcurrant. The immediate sensation of the wine on the palate is full-bodied, enveloping and dense. The mid-palate is generous and inviting with present tannins, finishing with a pleasant drop of bitterness.”

Explore Clos Marey-Monge

The largest monopole in Burgundy, Clos Marey‑Monge is a collection of different micro-climates and soil types. Each of our seven terroirs – Simone, Les Paules, Grands Champs, Chantrerie, 75 Rangs, Micault, and Émilie – is a different composition of limestone, iron-rich clay, alluvium and other minerals essential to Pinot Noir.
