POMMARD, FRANCE – For Valentine’s Day, treat your loved one with an Exceptional gift from Château de Pommard and Famille Carabello-Baum. This winter, the estate unveils its most private cuvées through a tailor-made wine collection and a tasting experience. From Simone, Clos Marey-Monge’s first plot converted into biodynamics, to Corton-Charlotte Dumay Grand Cru Hospices de Beaune; these cuvees all have in common a remarkable terroir and a unique winemaking process, contributing to their exceptionality.
Available from the 15th of January, the estate launches the Exceptional Experience, a unique tasting experience offering the exclusive opportunity to sip Château de Pommard’s rarest cuvée, Simone. Born from a remarkable terroir of just 0.53 hectares, this iconic wine is only available through allocation with 1,800 bottles produced each year. Simone is featured alongside other extraordinary wines such as Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru 2017 -only 1,198 bottles produced for this vintage-. The Exceptional Experience might be the only chance you’ll ever get to enjoy these unique cuvées, at the property and in key cities of the world (list of cities available here).
The estate put together three of these exceptional cuvées in a unique gift box. The Exceptional Collection gathers Château de Pommard Simone 2017 -a hundred bottles were saved from the allocation list-, Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru 2017 and Corton-Charlotte Dumay Grand Cru Hospices de Beaune 2017. This collection of exclusive wines is available in limited quantity on the estate’s website. Château de Pommard, Simone 2017:
“A pale ruby color with garnet reflections. The nose is intensely spicy exhibiting clove, macerated red fruit and aged balsamic vinegar notes. A rich, full-bodied and muscular palate helps to provide balance to the natural sweetness that is present. The tannins are firm and structured with a long and expressive finish.” Paolo Basso, 2013 World Best Sommelier
