Lying in the southern part of the Côte de Beaune, between Chassagne and Puligny, Saint-Aubin spread its vines on the steep slopes neighboring the Montrachet where it benefits from a dry and cool climate. Fresh and elegant, our Chardonnay coming from vines located on the heights of the village reveals the finesse of this clay and limestone-rich Côte de Beaune terroir.
Creamy mouthfeel and refreshing finish
Behind its pale green-lemon color, Saint-Aubin 2017 reveals an intense nose of white flowers, citrus and white fruits, such as pears and green apples. The palate confirms these flavors and underlines buttery and lemon notes. The acidity is high, balancing the creamy mouthfeel with a refreshing finish. Suitable for aging, this Chardonnay can be appreciated from now on.
A generous year
2017 began the best possible way, with a sunny and warm spring and no threats of hail or frost. Bud break happened at the beginning of April, soon followed by blooming. Summer was marked by scorching episodes, pushing maturation forward. Harvest started over the last days of August, two weeks earlier than usual, and lasted until mid-September. With healthy, ripe grapes and yields back to normal, 2017 has since proven its high-quality and long-lasting potential.

Fifteen villages. Two iconic grape varieties. The most honest expression of grape, terroir, and vintage.
For fifteen years, Jérôme Aucourt introduced tens of thousands of people around the world to the wines of Château de Pommard. His passion for Burgundy and his knowledge of wine was limitless. In memory of our friend, colleague, father, husband, and wine advisor, we have established the Jérôme Aucourt Scholarship at our Ècole V Wine and Spirit Education Trust (WSET) professional wine school. Details of the scholarship program will be published soon. Jérôme is survived by his wife Allison, their two young children, his mother, father, and two brothers.
