The village of Meursault is situated on an ancient Gallo-Roman settlement. Its long history can be observed in the Roman ruins on the hill above the town, the 13th-century town hall with its polychrome roof, and the 15th-century Eglise Saint-Nicolas de Meursault. Famous worldwide for its exceptional chardonnays, Meursault has earned its place in Burgundian lore.
Known for its creamy chardonnays thanks to a tradition of battonage, malolactic fermentation, and aging on fine lees, Meursault displays a unique side of the Côte de Beaune.
Golden in color, the nose offers rich and complex aromas of citrus, tropical fruit and vanilla. The palate, rich and creamy, distills the richness of the vintage, highlighting this Chardonnay’s buttery, brioche character as well as notes of honey and amber rum. In spite of the heat during the 2018 growing season, this Chardonnay has an incredibly fresh and mineral finish.
