Our Gevrey-Chambertin Premier Cru “Les Cazetiers” 2019 has a deep ruby color with an intense and complex nose. Aromas of red fruit like raspberry and cherry intermingle harmoniously with toasty notes. The palate is full and generous, firm with structured tannins. This powerful and seductive wine has a magnificent and elegant persistence that will allow it to age for many years to come.
Located east of “Clos Saint-Jacques,” this climat is one of the highest in Gevrey-Chambertin. Facing due east, an oak forest protects the vines from harsh weather, making it very favorable for cultivating Pinot Noir. Characterized by a steep slope, the shallow soils are generally very stony across the plot, though predominantly marly towards the top of the plot.
Hand-harvested grapes. Weeks-long maceration, minimal pumping-over and punching-down. Pressing in pneumatic press. Placed in French oak barrels for aging on fine lees.
