The 2020 Simone Awards
Celebrating women committed to making a difference in the world
POMMARD, FRANCE – Château de Pommard and the Simone Awards Board are proud to announce the opening of the 2020 Simone Awards and honored to reveal the name of this year’s Awards Ambassador: Mrs. Ludivine Griveau, Managing Director of the world-renowned Hospices de Beaune’s vineyards.
Launched in 2018, the awards celebrate and support women-led causes in their pursuit of a better world. Last year, 10% of the annual profits from the sale of Simone, Château de Pommard’s top cuvée, were donated to the winners’ causes. Carefully selected by the Simone Awards Board, the 2019 recipients truly represented the spirit of commitment. The awards for the first edition recognized three amazing women championing ocean conservation in South Africa, violence prevention through art in Canada, and connecting young people to the scientific community in the United States.
Inspired by them and many more committed women across the globe, the Simone Awards Board is thrilled to welcome Ludivine Griveau as the 2020 Simone Awards Ambassador. Mrs. Griveau is the first-ever woman appointed as Managing Director of the Hospices de Beaune vineyards. For the past five years, she has been in charge of more than 60 hectares of vines throughout Burgundy. Her role is to ensure the continuation of the hospital’s mission, thanks to the famous annual wine auction in Beaune, while driving necessary changes in a world where sustainability has become an ever more important priority.
The Board will begin accepting nominations for the 2020 Simone Awards on January 21, 2020. The awards are open to any woman-run cause in any country or sector around the world, focused on positive outcomes. Winners are selected each year by the Simone Awards Board based on a variety of criteria, including the uniqueness, reach, and impact of each cause. Applications for the 2020 Simone Awards will be accepted until March 21, 2020. Winners will be announced on March 31, 2020.
