About the Appellation

Savigny-lès-Beaune Premier Cru Les Lavières is a vineyard located just south of the village in the Côte de Beaune. Its name comes from the “laves” — flat stones once used to cover Burgundy’s traditional rooftops, harvested from the region’s own soils. The terroir here is exceptional: gently sloping, it captures the perfect balance of sunlight, while the clay-limestone soils lend a unique character to the wines. For centuries, Les Lavières has been prized for its exceptional potential, with the Cistercian monks recognizing its value for viticulture long ago. Today, this Climat remains one of the most celebrated in the Savigny-lès-Beaune appellation, reflecting the deep connection between Burgundy’s rich heritage and the meticulous craftsmanship that brings out the best of its land.
