Elevating the Crown Jewel: Clos Marey-Monge
In recent years, while global wine consumption has been gradually declining, demand for organic and chemical-free wines has been increasing. Despite this surge, only 6% of vineyards hold organic certification, according to the OIV.
We are answering this shift directly, reimagining our flagship Clos Marey-Monge with more distinctive cuvées, and ensuring that every bottle sold is certified organic.
Made By Nature
Our flagship Clos Marey-Monge cuvées embody our vision for the future of Burgundy: chemical-free, naturally produced, and fully certified organic and biodynamic wines crafted at the very highest level. Our 20-hectare monopole, enclosed by a two-meter stone wall, is not only Burgundy’s largest privately-owned vineyard but also one of its most distinctive. Its diverse soils, ancient vines, and self-contained ecosystem create a protected biosphere that allows us to farm biodynamically and regeneratively with complete confidence in nature’s rhythm.
After more than a decade of biodynamic practices, the transformation is unmistakable. Each wine reveals greater purity, precision, and complexity, offering a truer expression of the vineyard’s remarkable terroir. The world has begun to take notice: critics have awarded the 2023 vintage outstanding ratings, recognizing its finesse and depth.
A New Identity
The new Clos Marey-Monge identity embodies the evolution of our estate — a renewed expression of authenticity, craftsmanship, and respect for nature. Our branding and packaging have been reimagined to bring this vision to life, with refined, contemporary labels and reusable wooden cases crafted from sustainably managed forests.
At the center of this new identity stands the Original Wooden Case, an exclusive collector’s edition showcasing all six of our 2023 plot cuvées — Nicolas-Joseph, 75 Rangs, Vivant Micault, Chantrerie, Grands Esprits, and Émilie. Together, they offer a complete immersion into the soul of Clos Marey-Monge, revealing the full spectrum of its soils and character. To honor the estate’s centuries-old legacy, only 172 x 6 bottle-cases have been produced — a symbolic tribute to 1726, the year Château de Pommard was founded.
By uniting scarcity and certified organic and biodynamic farming, our estate is setting a new standard for how Burgundy can adapt and thrive. With only about six percent of vineyards certified organic worldwide, the estate’s full certification across all its wines is a rare achievement and a clear signal of where Burgundy is heading.
